We offer a comprehensive email service for your domain names. Unlimited email addresses can be tailored to suite your need. You don't need to host your website with us to take advantage of this service.

With or without having a web site you can have an e-mail address of your choice (subject to availability). You can have e-mail like :

yourname@yourdomain.com or yourname@yourdomain.com.au

As a cost effective measure this way you don't need to set up a website, or alternatively you can use one of our domains.

 

POP3 Mail

Why POP3?
Sending and receiving electronic mail has become one of the easiest tasks you can do on your computer. Administering mail, on the other hand, is another matter. Running a mail server is a complex task that even experienced sysadmins sometimes grumble about. If you're already busy running a site, fiddling with a mail server may be more than you want to take on.

Fortunately, you don't have to do it. By using Network Solution's POP3 service, we take on the chore of handling mail for your domain, leaving you with more time to spend on content creation, list moderation or whatever else you enjoy doing. At the same time, you get to use your own domain name, rather than that of an ISP. Aside from some very simple setup, your only mail-related task will be reading it.

We, of course, enjoy mail administration and are well set up to provide industrial-strength mail service. Network Solution's mail servers are in professional co-location facilities in San Diego, Texas, and New York, close to the Internet backbone. Multiple mail servers ensure that the mail gets to us, even if there are routing problems or congestion on parts of the Internet.

Mail Features
Network Solution's POP3 service provides a number of convenience features beyond just delivery of mail. The first is accessibility. As its name implies, you can read mail with any POP3-compatible mail-reader. Microsoft Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger and Eudora are popular choices, and there are dozens of others. In addition, Network Solution POP3 includes a webmail interface, which means that you can read mail directly from a browser, without any mail reader software at all!

In addition, Network Solution's POP3 helps you filter out spam. Using the most current Anti-Spam technologies, Network Solution POP3 service keeps you virtually spam-free. When a message arrives for you it has already passed many layers of scrutiny. First, the sender's IP address was checked against industry standard blacklists including SpamCop, MAPS, and Spamhaus. Next, the message passes through a virus detection engine that is updated every few hours. Lastly, the message is looked at by SpamAssassin, which calculates the likelyhood that the message is or is not spam, and flags the spam if it has made it this far. SpamAssassin also checks messages against Vipul's Razor-- a database of known spam kept at the bleeding edge of freshness. The flags SpamAssassin uses allow you to quickly and easily identify spam and filter it in your mail software. No longer will you even need to delete it; you can make that automatic.

You get unlimited email accounts with our POP3 mail service, one of which can be designated as the default mail destination for your domain. This "catch-all" account ensures that mail always gets to someone at your site, even if the name has a typo or is otherwise invalid. For example, a desperate correspondent could simply send mail to "help@yourdomain.com" and the mail would be delivered to one of your real accounts, such as "webmaster@yourdomain.com." With Network Solution POP3, the mail always gets through, even if it's mistyped!

Finally, unlike some email providers, we don't add advertisements to your mail.

Why Forward?
If you have more than one email account, or your account changes, you may worry that you're losing mail or not getting it in a timely manner. Worry no more, because Network Solution's Mail Forwarding service provides you with a constant and easy-to-remember address, no matter where your "real" email account resides.

If you have a domain or Network Solution Free host, you can give it five email addresses that can be redirected to any addresses you specify. For example, people can reach you at you@yourdomain.com, even though your real address is joe.student@somewhere.edu for most of the year, and joe@home.com during summer break. All it takes is a minute in our web adminstration interface to make the switch.

Another use is when you permanently switch ISPs. Rather than sending out "I'm moving" messages and hoping you didn't leave out anyone important, Network Solution Mail Forwarding simply delivers the messages to your new address. You can then reply to messages and your correspondents will get your new address.

You can also turn a hard-to-remember address into an easy one. Addresses like "joe123453@hotmail.com" can be transformed into something entirely more personable with Network Solution Mail Forwarding.

Network Solution Mail Forwarding includes up to five mail accounts, one of which can serve as the default address for your domain. This ensures that mail always reaches you, even if the name has a typo or is otherwise invalid.
